Well. Its been a while (or half a year!), and while I was putting off writing until my new website was up and running, life got in the way, and launching took a back seat. So to take the pressure off, I pushed out the date to early 2017, and decided to keep the words flowing on here, because I have had so much to say, and as my journal splits at the seams, I was given a nudge this morning to start putting it out here again, because the message can always serve someone.
Back to the header. Growing pains are real. Ain’t that the truth. And I’m not talking about those leg pains we experienced as kids (I still have clear memories of me sitting on the cold tiles on our kitchen floor in agony crying to my Mum about the deep pains in my growing legs! ha), I’m talking about the emotional, spiritual, energetic growth that we all go through;
It was said on a friends Facebook live the other week, where she referred to this ‘stuff’ she was going through as growing pains and it just. hit. home.
We hit a roadblock. Shit happens. Things fall apart. Resistance hangs over us. The self talk begins. And before you know it, you’re having a meltdown praying that no-one sees the crazy woman you are being. Please tell me i’m not alone here? Yes, I’m human too. To be honest, thankfully I seem to be able to hold it together more often than not. I work really hard on myself, I work really hard on continually trying to better myself, and I work really hard on moving forward. But it is NOT all smooth sailing. And anyone who tells you it is, is telling a few little white ones.
Somewhere along the way, I think we forget that just before something new and amazing, there is always (I repeat, always) resistance. It may show up as something that seems like the biggest problem, or the biggest heartache of your life, but its just part of the journey. And to get to the other side, to this new and extraordinary something that is awaiting you, you have to go through the struggle, so that you can grow, evolve and serve your purpose here which is to become the best version of yourself in this lifetime.
Every next level of your life will demand a different you.
Drop the mic.
You cannot reach the next level, without the growth. And the growth will come with pain somewhere along the way. Don’t get me wrong it will come with a hell of a lot of sweetness too, but naturally there will be resistance which can and will come in many different forms.
Embrace the process. Because as Matt Kahn says
” If you always got your way, you’d wind up receiving far less than what life has in store for you. “
So those growing pains you may be experiencing right now – be thankful.
And get excited for whats to come – you will not be disappointed, I can promise you that. X
